Took my love to the airport this morning at about 4:40. Just as I pulled up to drop him off there, my left front tire went woobita woobita and was absolutely flat. The airport service truck tried to fill it, but it was pretty much shredded. I went to put on the donut spare but couldn't get the lug nuts undone. The smaller of the two service guys ended up jumping up and down on the lug wrench and they managed to get the tire off and the (visibly low) spare on in its place. I gave them the lonely five dollar bill out of my wallet. Kevin had left his cell phone with me, and I used it to call my carpool -- thank goodness I know one of their numbers by heart. Told her I might be late, and drove to Cheney at 50 - 55 with the flashers on, but still got to work about ten til six.
An ordinary sucky Monday, just with fewer people on the schedule. I was pretty busy, and will be again tomorrow. I hate "dead week" -- the week before finals. Almost all my part timers (including my breakfast cook) are laid off and the kids have nothing much to do but hang around and eat.
Straight from work to Les Schwab for two new tires, but to their credit (and ON mine) they had them done in 25 minutes.
I know that a year passes all too quickly, but today it seems a very long time until he comes home.
