Today I visited Rosenborg Castle, built in the early 1600s by Christian IV. It was 60F with a clear sky, and breezy: I enjoyed the walk. The castle itself was fun, desks of inlaid this-and-that, some of them, um, gilded? Tiles and fireplaces and a throne made of 'unicorn horn' (narwal).

I did a little better with breakfast today, but most of what is offered mystifies me. :-). I had a small bowl oof natural (i.e. sour) yogurt and added some strawberry jam, but later saw someone empty the yogurt into a different bowl and add granola and raisins and such! Ah, learning. OK, I'm totally unable to write much at all about today's travel. I spent some time clearing out my email (and writing one) while lying on the bed, and I ended up getting toe and calf cramp! As soon as I took my shoes off I realized those toes were in an iffy state.. having been in shoes for far longer than usual ( Read more... )

A couple months before going overseas I fall into a strange state. I can't read anything serious, or watch anything more than YouTube videos. If I've already started something (e.g. a C-drama) I stop watching it, even though I could watch one episode a day and finish it before my vacation.
