Ten years that man has tortured me with the secret of his barbecue sauce. Ten years I have tried to get him to tell me what it is. And, ten years, he's managed to ignore every advance, every trick, every... everything. I swear, I don't know how he does it. I've tried spying, I've hovered. Hell, I even threatened his life with an envelope once. Really! And, still, he never budged. I don't see what the big deal is. It's just sauce. Maybe I can get Max to find out what it is.

I will know. Oh yes... I will.

44 Baggage
Dree found herself, one afternoon, in the city - well, what Laethriel passed for a city - and happened across a small junk shop. El'Ari wanted a box of her own, to start collecting things, so Dree was going to find her the best one. As she moved through the stacks of stuff, Dree thought back on that day she was going to show El her box. They'd had words and El demanded to know why Dree was being the way she was. However, following a comment about the past staying dead, Dree decided against it. All she had was the past.

22 Storm
The sky was black, blue, green... even purple. Nearly every shade of every cool color on the color wheel DG had explained to her all those years ago. Everything about the weather told Dree to go back inside. Close the doors and the windows, make a nice, hot cup of tea and get under a blanket. Still, she sat on the porch and stared out over the water. A small niggle in the back of her head made Dree wonder if it was she who was controlling the weather. After all, she felt as angry as the dark clouds looked.
