6. Pride

The list of things she had added to the design was pretty extensive. There was a waterfall, a slide, a rock cliff, a doggie pool, a hot tub, palm trees, fire pits, lights, and that was just to start.

K’tanya knew that she was doing a bit more than what the boys had wanted, but she was a firm believer in the idea that if you were going to do something, then you should make sure and do it right.

One thing was for sure though, there wasn’t going to be another private pool like it in the whole state.

Drabble 31, prompt 41 - Run in With Neighbors

Juliet’s standing between James and Richard in the middle of the barracks. Everyone else is safely indoors, so she has no idea why she’s out here other than she has James’ back. “No one here broke the contract, Richard,” she says calmly.

"How about we let the head of security explain why two of my men are dead."

James looks at Richard straight on. "Your friend Widmore set us up. You might wanna talk to him, Maybelline."

Juliet watches as Richard considers it.

"This isn’t over. I’ll be back with questions."

"We’ll be here," she replies.

He never comes back.

"And you accuse me of dazzling people?" Theo read pretentiously.

"Shut up, Dread Head." Alison snatched at the book. Theo rounded the couch, finding another awful phrase. "I turned slowly, unwillingly." He clutched the hand not holding the book to his heart for dramatic purposes. " I didn’t want to feel what I knew I would feel when I looked at his too-perfect face."

"Dad! Theo won't give me Twilight!"

"I'm doing you a favor," Theo said.

"Dadddd!"

"Theodore!"

Theo handed the book back.

"It's romantic," Alison insisted.

"Sparkly stalker romance."

"Edward's hot."

"You're dumb."

"Daddddd!"
