The day she met the Doctor, time seemed to stop. Of course, they were moving through time itself, but within the confines of the TARDIS, it seemed time didn’t pass, or even exist. Also, the Doctor could make it appear to the outside world that they’d only been gone maybe five, ten minutes tops, no matter how far they had gone from Earth or how long they’d been there. When he got it right, that is. That’s why, when she had finally left for good, when she was returned to linear time, Sarah Jane Smith felt so out of place.
