I've finally found a SPN story (apart from astolat's stories, of course) that I really, really, REALLY love: Life As We Know It by sevenfists. It's funny, angsty, very, very sweet and most of all, completely believable to me. Just perfect. I read Sam/Dean and gen too and I have to say there is some very emotionally satisfying fic being written, stuff that gets me in the gut in the best way possible. Um, so yeah, just jumping in here to say that fics like Red by big_pink are amazing, where you just feel how much Dean *is* the guy who wants happiness for his family more than for himself, and a Sam that gets this, and gives the love right back.

It's just perfect. It's not easy balancing sweet & angst & humour so well as she does. Also, all incest stories come with the big problem of making their relationship believable and workable. Not everyone manages that, that's for sure.

How many times can one say 'Oh, Dean', in a day, I wonder? He's really such a better person than he thinks he is.

This episode would have needed another half hour or so to really deal with everything that came up, don't you think? It's my impression too that it's the Djinn telling him to stay, in the shape of his family. Because I don't believe that people he otherwise met in this Djinn-world were just pretending. It was as 'real' as it could be ( ... )
