Just out of curiosity, I reread my own stories today (rose, then snake) - its been so long, I didn't even remember them anymore.  And what do you know, I got hooked by my own stories - can't believe I wrote so well so many years ago, and I wish the story had continued, as I myself wanted to continue reading. Re-reading some parts of OotP made me think Dumbledore's and Fudge's actions in the first four books, and I found myself sympathetic of Fudge, sort of.

For some reason unknown to me, I found myself contemplating Petunia Dursley one rainy Sunday afternoon.  The main question I had was truly simple: why did Petunia treat Harry so badly?  It's easy to take the books at face value and say:"Why, what else other than plain old jealousy?"  But I've always had my problems with that particular explanation ( Read more... )

I am suddenly struck by a question out of nowhere:  Why was Ron Weasley picked as a Prefect?  As far as I am concerned, even Neville has a better sense of right and wrong than Ron. So why Ron?

Based on my impression of how Albus Dumbledore worked, I am tempted to say this is another case of plain Dumbledore Favoritism. But then, I could be wrong ( Read more... )
