22 August 2007- today i court destiny in a peculiar blouse that is equal parts sugar and spice, a romantic match of antonyms in its modestly conservative front and daringly sexy back.

"cute" - was the word for my outfit that day. the clever marriage of drop sleeves with unexpected criss-crossing straps at the back, creating between them an almost trapezium shaped armhole, exudes a childlike sailormoon appeal when coupled with a short, pleated, swinging (well, a little) A line skirt.
childishness overload? not if the bow is well hidden: this hairclip was what i used as a
"bra buddy" to secure the two straps of my bra together in a cross at the back, after deciding that i neither wished to have unsightly bra straps peeking out under my cross-back, nor had the trust to put my fate in a strapless bra.

this beading lady, designer Abigael of Singapore, is steadfast in her admiration and love for asymmetry, always a central feature in her many pairs of handmade earrings. the mismatched brass butterflies with pearls is my favourite in her collection - and in mine as well. they are elegant, sophisticated, and beautiful, as are most of her other creations.
