Mum very kindly did some weeding for me yesterday while I was out at work. Unfortunately she pulled out my horseradish along with the weeds :-( Fortunately she realised what it was once she'd pulled it out, so she replanted it straight away, but one of the plants has no leaves on anymore and the other one only has one left, so I hope they survive ( Read more... )

Other people always seem to weed something desirable. The only way to prevent it seems to be to do the weeding first, which is far too much work!

I would have shown her where it was if I'd realised she was going to take it upon herself to do gardening for me. I fully agree with her that it does look like a big healthy weed. (Which was why I'd marked it in case Bacchus surprised me by doing some weeding one day - a long shot I know! :-D)

I don't mind weeding when there's nothing else interesting to do, it's just that that situation doesn't happen very often :-) Generally my approach is to pull a couple of things out as I'm passing rather than do one big session.
