That is all.

I didn't comment on the last chapter but I'm reading and really enjoying this story! I look forward to the next chapter. :-)

I'm wondering...Jeff says he was never a real lawyer, but he was, wasn't he? After S4, he had his own law practice. So presumably he retook the bar exam? Or in some way proved to the Colorado State Bar Association that he was capable of actually practicing law. In the show they say Jeff faked his undergrad degree and cheated on his LSATs, but they never say he didn't go to law school. But if he didn't, he wouldn't have been able to practice law between S4 and S5.

I dunno, though...I have a hard time picturing Jeff at law school, which is notoriously difficult and requires many, many hours of study.

But unless he somehow managed to get caught for faking an undergrad degree but NOT caught for faking a law degree (which I have a hard time believing, since faking one degree probably led to someone looking more closely at Jeff's credentials), he must have gone to law school, right?

Yeah, the show is kinda sketchy on those points. They said he faked his undergrad degree, which of course is his whole purpose for going to Greendale, but there's no mention of his law degree. I didn't like that line he said in S5, where he said he wasn't a real lawyer, but that's what I was playing off here. I get the feeling that the way the show intends it is that Jeff doesn't really know the law side of being a lawyer because (like you said) he wouldn't put in the work to learn it. But he's exceptional at arguing and talking circles around people. And the examples they gave in the show demonstrate that the defenses he's used are not actual legal defenses, they're just BS Jeff made up and managed to convince the jury of because of his silver tongue ( ... )

True, all true. I guess it's one of those things that really requires willing suspension of disbelief. :-)

Calling it now: Simmons recorded Annie's speech and is going to digitally modify it and use it as a proof in court in order to discredit Jeff...
Or something like that.

Simmons couldn't possibly be that devious, could he?

Ugh, Simmons. Nice twist though, I don't think anybody saw it coming!!

Also I really want to hug Annie right now in celebration that was freaking awesome. Especially her closing remark to Simmons.

So Annie and Jeff are teaming up as hotshot lawyers??? This will either end amazingly well or we're all gonna die :D.

I did drop a hint. The whirring noise Jeff heard was Simmons' wheelchair. It couldn't have been Alan though, because Alan was another defense attorney, not a prosecutor. And yes, ugh, Simmons. I can't believe that they had planned to have Annie date him in season 2. They decided against it when they realized how well the Jeff/Annie thing was going and used that instead. Sooooo glad that they didn't have her date Simmons. Just one more reason to be thankful for the Alison/Joel chemistry.

Annie tried to take the high road and walk away, but Simmons wouldn't let her. You mess with the bull, you get the horns :-)

So Annie and Jeff are teaming up as hotshot lawyers??? You didn't expect Annie to just sit on the sidelines did you? She's not an actual lawyer, so Jeff will have to do the courtroom stuff, but they can prepare and get stress ( ... )

. . . Okay I completely missed that hint. I think I just want Annie to punch Alan lol. Simmons really was genius to put in here though, because it makes PERFECT SENSE. I'm sooooooooooooooo glad she didn't date him. I think it would just be weird because he has a tendency to call her 'little Annie adderall' and I don't think she could date anyone who would do that. Also Alison and Joel have too much chemistry to not utilize it.

The idea was that he drove her nuts, but was so charismatic that she was drawn in. Like "ARRGH I hate him, but..." You an see what they were going for in the part where Jeff tells her to go off book. The way she says "Simmons is so good at using his inherent magnetism to sell his points..." I picked up on that the first time I watched it and was like "Wtf, she doesn't actually like that guy does she?!" I hate it when shows have girls like Annie date guys who treat them like crap, which is what Simmons would do.

Can Simmons mess with the bull more often? I like Annie's horns!!

Haha, we'll see. I know big picture where I want it to go. Something like that would have to fit it organically. I certainly wouldn't avoid it if it made sense though :)

Well you know, a massage from the person you love is really helpful when dealing with stress ( ... )
