Speaking of perfect...Simmons! Of course it's Simmons! He was there when J/A was in its beginning stages, and he is going to help bring them together by being awful. That was a great twist because you set it up so perfectly for Alan and then BAM! Simmons. That was some crafty writing, my friend.
The Caroline scene with all the sexual tension was spectacular.
I don't have much else specific to say, but I really enjoyed every bit of this chapter. Onward!

Alan would've been fun to have go up against Jeff, but they already did that in the S3 finale, so I wanted to try something else. Plus, Alan turned into kind of a train wreck in S5. Simmons struck me as someone who would actually make a pretty good lawyer, he's got the charisma, debate, and speaking skills. So why not, right? And he's one of my favorite villains in Community. He's just so easy to dislike. And, as you mentioned, there's the whole connection with J/A origins.
