They're opening the Ikea here next week. I am excited to a ridiculous and embarrassing degree. They are letting people camp out starting two days before the opening. I heart IKEA. I spent a lot of time in the Smaland play center as a kid while my parents shopped, and now we live about 10 minutes from one and 30 minutes from another (because god bless Chicago, we have two). We bought our desk there and have plans for a bed at some point... plus it's just fun to walk around and have some cheap-o meatballs or mac and cheese.

(hey! you can take piper there and dump her for an hour and walk around inhaling the smell of plastic and meatballs!:))

Heh, why do you think I'm working so hard to potty-train her? Hellooo toddler-free shopping!

I used to take her to the one by my parents' house (seriously, they live 2 miles away) last winter when I was staying with them and needed a break from the family. It was a nice, warm place to let her practice pulling up/standing/cruising, and nobody cared how long I was there without buying something.
