It's been REALLY warm here lately, 65+ several days and 70+ on quite a few. Instead of enjoying the warm, sunny days, I wander around with my stomach in knots. I've been trying to take Piper berry-picking, but have had no success. I can't find a friggin' place to do it.

* I love NoDa (short for “North Davidson,” the street that is the main drag through there). It’s the funky, arty section of town, full of galleries and theaters and restaurants. So yesterday I was looking around online for Halloween activities to take Piper to, and wound up comparing the Gaston County Gazette's page of Fall events to the one at the Charlotte Observer. We're only a few miles from the Gaston County line, so a lot of those activities are just as close (if not closer) than the ones in the Charlotte area. ( Read more... )

They're opening the Ikea here next week. I am excited to a ridiculous and embarrassing degree. They are letting people camp out starting two days before the opening.
