There are times when you make a recipe, follow it exactly, and things go disastrously wrong. That's what happened the first time I made these pumpkin pie bars.
That's similar to the recipe you posted last year, isn't it? I remember making one with fake sugar instead of the real thing and it was out-of-this world delicious!

I think you talking about the pumpkin roll bars? Those are indeed delicious, but have a different taste than these. Those are creamier, while this new recipe is much closer to a pumpkin pie.
For the molasses, you could try substituting honey, agave syrup, or maple syrup, if those are options for you. They'd give a much lighter flavor but I think they'd work.
Fabulous! I've been trying to do more big batch recipes because my husband's now in a work group of about 25. I have to make sure there's enough to go around.
