I had pointed out to me that many things are already legislated. Quite a number of laws protect marriage and the two partners involved that other legal works cannot duplicate. For that post and replay:

While I beleive similar, I had no idea the legal stuff that comes with being married.

Please understand, there are many legal rights that currently a married couple receives. I see no reason that a couple should receive these solely because they are a man and a woman. Marriage is a religious and social institution; its definition should have never become legal ( ... )

While I agree with you that Marriage shouldn't be leagalized or de-leagalized, It just plain shouldn't be a part of the law but I had it pointed out to me that it IS a part of the law and has been for some time. For me it is a social and spiritual situation as well. Wanting the world to know that yes I care about this person to make them this much of a stable and loving part of my life. The bigest smack to me was: IT WAS TOO LATE to consider it not being a part of the law and it is easier to make a law than un-make it. Actually that laws don't get unmade. A new law get's written to override and eliminate the old one. Kinda a Substitution situation. So I can't have my cake or eat it. Ok. So not crying over spilt milk, or rather not whining about the nuclear bomb that hit, let's just deal with it.
