So, I spent most of yesterday dealing with medical exam stuff for immigration.  some of this is my own fault because I was lacking the ID photos, and had to go get them and blahblahblah.  nevertheless, my appt was at 10:30 and I didnt get through the whole thing (medical history quiz, perfunctory exam, X-ray, and bloodwork) until nearly 3pm.  To be

Have you done the fingerprint thinger yet? if not, go to the one at Yonge & St. Clair. $20 per set, which is (according to the guy working there) supposedly the cheapest in the city.

Did they comment about your tattoo? Did you have to pay extra for a Hep B shot? If not, then tell me where you went! I had to pay extra for a test because of my tattoo, even though I'm VACCINATED and had the paperwork with me to prove it. I was so pissed. They said they'd NEVER had anyone with a tattoo come in. I think I totally got screwed on the medical.

yeah, i had to pay extra for the tat test, and i totally forgot to tell her that i already have my hep A and B, from years ago. but all the blood work only cost like $12, which is the least ive had to pay for anything so far. the rest was $110 for the 'exam' and $35 for the x-ray.

since I have to get 3 sets, the place down here actually comes out about the same ($35 plus $10 per extra set)

btw, im really sorry i cant make it to the birthday, i have to work the opening at A-Space (you should come down and see the show tho, its good.) Wish the nice young lady happy birfday for me!

but! you are definitely invited to my birthday party on the fourth, if you can make it. it will be at a friends place, in the village (youve seen the size of ours). snackies, drinks, dancing, board games... anything can happen!

I had to get an HIV test... when I was 12.. And they had me get x-ray to test for TB even though I had been in canada for 7 years... Yes, I brought back tb from Iran and it was dormant for 7 years.

you need passport photos for the medical exam (i guess so they know it was really you), and then you need special passport-like-but-not-passport photos for the application, and then you also need photos of you and your spouse over time to prove that youre not just pretending.

its a lot of paperwork, and whats more, we have almost no photos of us together, especially looking cute and couple-y. bleh. and now i have to sit down and figure out all of the adresses ive lived at for the past ten years (theres more than 10). yippee!
