Ahh, I'm at 2,068 words already.  I am pretty proud of myself, especially considering I started knowing only that my main character was alone in the woods and fleeing for her life.  I went on from there, pausing several times to get my bearings, and plunged into the story.  I caught myself falling into the character-is-thinking-by-herself trap and ( Read more... )

Ooh! Maybe she can fall in the mud, only to look up and see her sinister English teacher glaring at her from the bushes! And then throw in some bears and possibly Whoopi Goldberg. It practically writes itself!

See, this is why I'm no good at coming up with ideas. But I wish you the best of luck with Nanowrimo this year. I've never had the guts to do it. I can barely write 20 words a day, much less 2,000.

I wish you the best of luck with NanoWrimo this year. I look forward to watching your progress and even reading your progress if you were willing. I wish Alan and I could participate this year, but unfortunately this play comes at the worst of times. If you do end up making the trip to see the play (and maybe online if you don't), then Alan and I would like to write our current stories every day you are here. We can all have our writing time together even if we aren't actually going for the big 50,000. I hope that NanoWrimo is still going well for you now that it is DAY 4. You must be in Connecticut by now. I hope the spontaneity turns out to be a good exercise instead of a frustration. It sounds like it is working out so far! Please keep us updated!
