Summary: She had always been loyal, even helped them take over the "Ingenue." But when Sam Winchester blows aboard due to a shuttle crash, Ruby finds more than the boy with D'monae blood who was prophesied to house their king Lucifer. She finds a listening ear and sanity among chaos, till a shattering confrontation shows her things are not as she's been taught.

Almost immediately, three columns of blue-white light appeared on the bridge.

Evolution of a banner.
There were so many elements in this story, I decided to go the opposite way with the banner art, a clean, uncluttered piece that hinted at both macro and micro "space," included a key plot element (Sam's puzzling DNA results), and, of course, it's the genteensybang, so Ruby had to be front-and-center.

Ruby's Ripley-ish pose demanded a suitably dynamic background, and a GIS for "DNA" resulted in a lucky hit -- this stunning image of a DNA strand that managed to simultaneously evoke internal and external space while referencing the storyline, i.e., Sam's mysterious DNA resuilts.
add "futuristic" font ("Neuropol," from fontspace.com) and a bit of digital glow:
