I've had my prompt for the d/g ficexchange for a week and the outlook is good. I have the first chapter written, and it already looks like it's going to be another monster...15,000 words, maybe? I'm at 2000 words and I'm 3/4 of the way through the exposition. I'm actually researching stuff that already exists rather than making crap up, so that'

My d/g ficexchange is going much the same way. It's currently sitting at around 5000 words and not nearly into the meat of the fic *s* I feel another monster coming on ;)

5000! Woo hoo! I can't wait to read it!

Also, I'm sorry about your friend. I had something very similar happen to me just after Christmas and it isn't nice. Sometimes people are inexplicable.
Good luck with your prompt!

Yeah, people are weird. I'm kind of done letting it take up space in my thoughts.
Thanks! Are you doing one, too?

Okay, so I'm not... but I DO think you're handlingthe friendship thing very well. It is sad to lose a friendship, especially since you weren't aware that it was in trouble... but what you're doing seems right. Perhaps they are having a bad week, or maybe they're just barmy. Who knows, but not getting yourself into a tizzy is the best way to go!
I can't believe you are that far into your exchange fic. You AND drangonsangel. AHGHG. I've had my prompt longer than you both and I have done the research and written out a few moments of dialogue, but that's it. I was even contemplating typing up the last chapter of my WIP BEFORE moving on to the exchange fic. Clearly, I have to sort out my priorities. ;)

Priorities? I haven't worked on my own stuff in weeks. Do I feel guilty? Um, a little. But the siren call of D/G is pretty strong! You better get crackin', missy!
No. Well, you have a little over a month, but still. *cracks whip*

Um...because I was selfishly keeping the pretty to myself?
I hope this means you'll venture down to the south of the forum and help keep the Dean thread and its fellows alive?
"Dean is the type of guy that I would have tried to fix when I was in college. " *GASP* Why would you want to "fix" a perfectly good bad boy? In that vein, I have to add that I've a ridiculously mary-sue'd SN plotbunny that may get developed someday.

By "fix" I mean become involved in an incredibly unhealthy relationship based on a love of his car and his tape collection. I spit all over the place when Sammy called it "mullet rock."
Want to hear about the ridiculously Mary-Sue'd plotbunny soon.

I waffle back and forth on the whole LONG and completed thing versus a 1500 word one shot. I can't seem to tell a story that short. I'm looking forward to reading yours!
I'm not holding my breath, but I guess there's always hope.
