A fair wizard is wandering nearby, humming to himself. He soon spies the new arrival and approaches with a casually easy smile.

"Are you in need of assistance?"

"I can manage just fine if by 'assistance', you mean rising and walking to yon manor," the saturnine stranger replies, his voice gruff in both timbre and expression. "But if you're offering to tell me just where in hell I am, I would appreciate the enlightenment."

Gellert looks amused. "I can answer any questions that you have. The nearby house is called simply 'The Mansion' and it will likely be your home for quite a while."

He laughs, and the sound is like dry leaves crackling. "The Mansion. What an original name. And who might be the lord of this originally named manor?" he asks, smirking.

Echo is certainly used to grumpy sorts and will find nothing at all odd about Klingsor at all. The crat is currently in the common sitting room, a large book open in front of him on the window seat. He's laying on a quarter of it, eyes half closed as he reads the book.

At first glance, he does look rather like a simple cat about to take a nap.

Kling has found himself some bread and cheese and is now looking for a quiet place to eat it, which is when he finds the cat-like critter. "Are you reading that book or using it as a bed?" he asks, tempted to nudge book and cat to one side and make more room for himself.

Echo looks up with large eyes at the stranger. "I'm reading it," he says politely. "Books don't make comfortable beds usually."

"I would not think so," he says. "Now might I ask, is it common for cats to speak in this world, or are you some practitioner's familiar?"

Outside, around the back half of the Mansion, Temeraire is lounging in the sun, taking a rest from where he's been stacking up logs for his future pavilion.

He's in a calm and friendly mood and very willing to talk.

Once the freaking out and/or shouting has died down anyway...

If there is any of course.

Klingsor once was a knight of the Grail, and while he wasn't a knight long enough to have actually slain a dragon, he was trained with the expectation that he might. And right now, he's unarmed, except for his magic, which is likely not very effective.

Yelping, he starts back. Then he looks around for a long stick, and finding one, grabs it and holds it low, at the ready, keeping a wary eye on the dragon.

Icon choice made me laugh. Just saying ao_ji March 27 2011, 06:25:57 UTC
Temeraire, hearing the yelp and sighing with the air of the long suffering, turns his great head around to the human.

"Are you another that has never seen a dragon," he asks.

"I have seen dragons before, and in my world, they were not to be trusted," he says. And wonders just why he's talking to a dragon, instead of making an assault. But then again, the stick isn't even sharp.

Well if he's strolling on the lawn at twilight, he might as well meet Adrian there, sunglasses on and ready for snark.

He's limping across the lawn, wrapped in a black cloak, the hood pushed back as he takes in the scenery. Spring is in the air and he breathes in the scent of damp earth and early leaves.

He's contemplating striking off into the near woods, even at this hour, when he spots the young man. "Ahhh, is milord taking his evening stroll in his domain?" he asks, smirking.

Adrian comes to a halt, surprised by the sudden inquiry, and mostly by its peculiar tone. "I beg your pardon? What domain are you talking about? I think the Mansion's lawn is a public space."

"Are you jesting with me, or are you telling me that you are not the lord of the manor?" he asks. "I would pay my respects to whomever claims this place as his realm." Though his tone suggests somewhat otherwise. It's not condescending, but it's definitely cynical.

Here's someone who won't want you messing with the flora, Klingsor.

Galadriel is out, looking at the budding nature, smiling a little, because though she misses the eternal beautiful weather of Valinor, there is something heartening in spring's rebirth.

She'll be wary around the wizard, predictably.

Others will show up, I'm just slow at tagging into new places due to thesiatus. ♥

He's studying a forsythia bush that is still a mass of dormant twigs. He's collecting his strength, wondering if, in his condition, he can awaken the bush. He'll take a sprig between his fingertips and caresses it gently, while focusing on it intently...

Nothing happens for the moment. He stops and mutters under his breath, irritably.

Galadriel is still observing quietly - as any elf, she can be virtually undetectable if she so wishes, and that was indeed her wish.

A short moment later, though, she decides to make her presence known, and so there is a voice where before there was none, speaking softly enough.

"Good afternoon."

She might be spooky on purpose - sometimes it's hard to tell what's going on in the old elf's mind.

He jolts a bit at that gentle voice and turns to cast an icy glare over his shoulder in its direction. "And what makes it a good afternoon?" he asks, irritably.

Cranky warlock is cranky!
