Well if he's strolling on the lawn at twilight, he might as well meet Adrian there, sunglasses on and ready for snark.

He's limping across the lawn, wrapped in a black cloak, the hood pushed back as he takes in the scenery. Spring is in the air and he breathes in the scent of damp earth and early leaves.

He's contemplating striking off into the near woods, even at this hour, when he spots the young man. "Ahhh, is milord taking his evening stroll in his domain?" he asks, smirking.

Adrian comes to a halt, surprised by the sudden inquiry, and mostly by its peculiar tone. "I beg your pardon? What domain are you talking about? I think the Mansion's lawn is a public space."

"Are you jesting with me, or are you telling me that you are not the lord of the manor?" he asks. "I would pay my respects to whomever claims this place as his realm." Though his tone suggests somewhat otherwise. It's not condescending, but it's definitely cynical.

"Pal. " He's ready to eyeroll, but years of being trained as royalty make him take a hold of himself. "I can assure you that I don't own this space; by my knowledge, no one does. But you could keep asking around."

"Well, since you were here I thought I would start with you," he says, grinning. Then growing serious, he says, "I am Lord Klingsor, formerly of the Terre de Mervielle. Now, it would seem, an exile."

"-- it's nice meeting you, I think. My name is Adrian Ivashkov."

No prince. Not this time. Not with another noble, true or fake.

"Ahh, a common scholar, then," he remarks. "Odd that a scribe should be roaming about in a twilit garden, or are you your own master?"
