[OPEN] News too happy to keep any longer...

Jan 16, 2011 20:56

Armand is in the library. It's a common place just to settle down and look for people while having something entertaining to do. He's been bursting with the news of his engagement to Karla. When all was said and done, despite their mutual fears of a big wedding, they both have family and friends they wish to share their happiness with. There will ( Read more... )

Wants to congratulate Armand, and won't stay long, as they're talking elsewhere. in_summer_leaf January 17 2011, 17:08:37 UTC
Hisoka walks practically sideways out of the stacks, where it is evident he has been for some time. He has a double armload of books, and he is also using his chin to stablize the precarious load long enough to get it to a table. When he gets there, he drops the entire heap on the table surface, regrettably with a cascade of thumps. (It's not Armand's table, but it's close.)

"Monsieur St. Just! Pardon me, I didn't see you!" he exclaims, in a library-whisper.

Armand startles to his feet at just the noise, but relaxes into a bit of a goofy grin when we sees that it's Hisoka. "You startled me," he says, which is perhaps painfully obvious. "What do you have there?" Yes, he's aching to spill his news, but politeness is first.

[If this one proves fruitful, we can wrap up the older one, just to get them nearer the present.]

Hisoka smiles to see Armand's grin, and starts to sort his books. Some are quite deadly-looking.

"I'm surveying the field of physics," he answers. "I'm guessing that the theories that are current in all the Mansion guests' worlds will be represented on these shelves. And considering how far in advance of my time Zhane's or the Doctor's science must be, for instance, then perhaps I'll learn something new!"

"But how are you, Monsieur St. Just? I'm sorry I startled you. Please, sit down."

{{That sounds good to me.}}

Armand takes a deep breath. "No, no... don't apologize. I was just lost in my own thoughts." He takes the invitation to sit down again. As a parent of a very active young boy, he's on his feet or bending over quite a bit during the day.

"I have to admit, though, that I'm laying in wait here, in the hopes of seeing people to give them some news." He cannot help the smile that comes across him when he speaks of that, though. Or the very slight blush.

Hasn't met Armand, this could be interesting... mal_badinlatin January 18 2011, 02:19:53 UTC
He might find he's not alone for long: there's a tall, somewhat rugged-looking fellow who's rummaging about the shelves, looking for something to read.

Mal might not be the most intellectual fellow, but he's fond of everything and anything to do with the Age of Sailing on Earth-That-Was, and so he's looking for a copy of "Two Years Before The Mast".

This visitor is much less startling, if a stranger. Armand hears him moving around, and eventually goes to find who it is. He stays at the end of the row though. "Are you looking for something?" he asks.

Mal inadvertently knocks a few books on the floor while trying to pull one out. "[Damn it to the seventh hell]," he mutters. "Don't mind me: jus' lookin' f'r Two Years B'fore th' Mast. Thought I had a copy in m' room, but seems it gone missin'."

Armand has to think. He's read so much out of his time and even out of his world. "Oh, I see. I think books like that are over there." He points to a shelf a little further along. "Is that one a novel or a... historical account?"

Draco all but sneaks into the library, looking furtively around before he heads toward a bookshelf. He hasn't been out in a while and he looks very jumpy.

Even being sneaky, one of Armand's best friends is not getting past him. "I see you there, Monsieur Malfoy. What do you think you're doing?" Instead of querulous, he sounds a little amused. But he gets up to follow just in case Draco wants to play he didn't hear him.

Draco twitches but does turn at the sound of Armand's voice. "I'm just looking for a book," he says, sounding guilty for some reason.

"I could help then," he says. "I have something to tell you anyway."

Whistling a tune to himself, Murata enters the library and looks around. He spots Armand and offers him a wave.

Armand smiles brightly to see Murata, and waves back. Adding a "come over" gesture at the end. He stands up to make it more obvious.

Smiling, Murata heads over to see what he wants. "Hey, how's it going?"

"Sit down! Sit down!" Armand can barely suppress his happiness. "I'm so glad you wandered by. I've been busy in here today." Well, not busy exactly, but occupied well enough.

Asato doesn't often come into the library, but he's got the gift Merlin gave him and wants to find a book to try and copy letters out of. Asking the one that was all metal had led him here and towards the children's sections.

Of course, he'll spot Armand right off, but he's in a shy mood and might not do much more than offer a small smile and bow of his head. Much like cats may sometimes be skittish around familiar faces....

Seeing Asato trying to slip past, Armand stands and goes after him. "No need to hide from me," he says gently from behind.

Asato turns towards him, ears flicking a bit restlessly. "Hello Armand." Still, he is happy to see his friend though... Yup, a glance at the floor and - "You're alone today?"

"Yes, I wanted some quiet to read. Etienne is with my sister." He wants to soothe Asato's apparent nerves, but doesn't know the etiquette for touching for Asato's people, and he has issues too nowadays.

"Were you looking for someone or something?"
