[OPEN] News too happy to keep any longer...

Jan 16, 2011 20:56

Armand is in the library. It's a common place just to settle down and look for people while having something entertaining to do. He's been bursting with the news of his engagement to Karla. When all was said and done, despite their mutual fears of a big wedding, they both have family and friends they wish to share their happiness with. There will ( Read more... )

Wants to congratulate Armand, and won't stay long, as they're talking elsewhere. in_summer_leaf January 17 2011, 17:08:37 UTC
Hisoka walks practically sideways out of the stacks, where it is evident he has been for some time. He has a double armload of books, and he is also using his chin to stablize the precarious load long enough to get it to a table. When he gets there, he drops the entire heap on the table surface, regrettably with a cascade of thumps. (It's not Armand's table, but it's close.)

"Monsieur St. Just! Pardon me, I didn't see you!" he exclaims, in a library-whisper.

Armand startles to his feet at just the noise, but relaxes into a bit of a goofy grin when we sees that it's Hisoka. "You startled me," he says, which is perhaps painfully obvious. "What do you have there?" Yes, he's aching to spill his news, but politeness is first.

[If this one proves fruitful, we can wrap up the older one, just to get them nearer the present.]

Hisoka smiles to see Armand's grin, and starts to sort his books. Some are quite deadly-looking.

"I'm surveying the field of physics," he answers. "I'm guessing that the theories that are current in all the Mansion guests' worlds will be represented on these shelves. And considering how far in advance of my time Zhane's or the Doctor's science must be, for instance, then perhaps I'll learn something new!"

"But how are you, Monsieur St. Just? I'm sorry I startled you. Please, sit down."

{{That sounds good to me.}}

Armand takes a deep breath. "No, no... don't apologize. I was just lost in my own thoughts." He takes the invitation to sit down again. As a parent of a very active young boy, he's on his feet or bending over quite a bit during the day.

"I have to admit, though, that I'm laying in wait here, in the hopes of seeing people to give them some news." He cannot help the smile that comes across him when he speaks of that, though. Or the very slight blush.

Hisoka is all ears. "Tell me your news?"

That smile and especially the faint blush...

"Are you sure?" he asks, then shakes his head. He wants to tell people.

"I'm engaged to remarry. To Karla, of course." And it makes him very happy to be so, so long as they can avoid a dreaded large wedding.

"Congratulations, Monsieur St. Just!" exclaims Hisoka, and then he adds, more quietly, "May the two of you be very happy, always."

And Armand looks so happy. Hisoka gives him a smile of the eyes.

"Have you set the date, yet?"

Another shake of his head. "We have barely told anyone. Probably spring or summer."

He's flushing under the well-wishing. "This is all so very hard for me to do again. It's my third engagement." And would be his second wedding if they make it.

Hisoka remarks, softly, "You have cared enough to make such a committment, three times? There speaks a devoted heart."

Armand is now very embarrassed. "I fall in love easily," he says quickly.

"I think that is a noble characteristic to have," replies Hisoka. He grins. "Besides, I do that, too. But I don't mean to embarrass you."

"Is it? It can cause a lot of distress." Especially since they don't always occur in sequence. "That is very kind of you to say."

"I think it is noble, though it's true we suffer! But we emotional people have to support each other, don't you think? Oh, and is your Karla of the same genre?"

Armand has to consider that. Calling Karla emotional could be done, but it missed the mark, too. "She is dramatic, shall we say..."

"...and it suits you, obviously."

"She pleases me, and I dare to hope I please her." He is too happy to be very sensible at the moment.
