Armand is in the library. It's a common place just to settle down and look for people while having something entertaining to do. He's been bursting with the news of his engagement to Karla. When all was said and done, despite their mutual fears of a big wedding, they both have family and friends they wish to share their happiness with. There will be a wedding eventually, and this time the idea of marrying swells his heart. He has no fears or doubts about this.
So he has books and spread out before him on a table, just reading idly and taking notes on things that interest him. But his eyes go up to search everyone who comes into the room to see if they're someone whose attention he wants to catch. Etienne is being watched by one of his siblings so that Armand can actually pursue an activity that isn't suitable for a young child. Imagine that.
