Morgoth has been observing. First, it was the intriguing being with the purple eyes and the elflings, scouring the forest for snakes, toads, spiders and the like. Then it was again this same being and an Atan, placing them in various places throughout the Mansion - mice in drawers, beetles on tables, snakes in cupboards, etc.

The spider was big and hairy - it didn't glow in the dark, but GraveRobber found it intriguing, so he proceeded to track it.

It would make a nice surprise for Shilo, is his thinking.

And of course, hoping to see the above mentioned. ^^

Shilo's probably bughunting too when she sees Graverobber, and goes to see what he's up to. It certainly looks like he's tracking something. Plus, he's Graverobber. So she grins as she sidles up next to him. "Hey."

"Hey," he replies, and gives her that Joker grin, eyes still on the prey. "-- sh--- you'll lose your prize, little girl."

Shilo finds that Joker grin sexy. She looks around, and the grin grows when she sees what he's been stalking. "Oh that's great," she says enthusiastically, starting to dig in her bag for a jar if GR's not already carrying one.

If anyone wants to have some fun, there's a Gawain, very gleefully charging at a giant snake in the front yard.

This. This. This was just what he needed.

Never mind that he could die. He's at least feeling like he has a purpose defending the Mansion.

It is the feast of All Hallow's Eve, but Parsifal is keeping watch, since he knows this is a night when the veil is thin and anything can find a way across. And so he has been walking the grounds of the Mansion, armed with his sword and with a phial of blessed salt to banish or entrap evil spirits.

Which is when he hears a commotion in the front yard and rushes toward the sound of what might be a fellow knight in need of another sword.

If Gawain is in trouble, he certainly doesn't look like he knows it - he's grinning darkly as he charges the snake, hops over a swoosh of the beast's tail and leaps to try and mount its head.

Gawain isn't at the top of his shape - high noon is his hour. But it would be to lie, to claim that he is not one of the greatest knights ever alive.

^^ Yaaay for knightly action. And *points down* Feanor and Paul both have a tag. Let me know if you want anyone in particular to tag anyone in particular? XD

"You are not alone, my brother knight," he calls, lunging toward the mid-section of the serpent. "You have my strength and God is behind us!" He aims his sword at the snake's flank, seeking a chink in the beast's belly scales.

Tsuzuki *had* veiled to watch the mischief unfolding and he was lurking in unobtrusive places to watch. But then things got hairy. Literally. He wonders if this is the Mansion deciding to take a diabolical spin on their prank. Or if Muraki has a hand in it.

And so he de-veils, an ofuda in hand already. "Who the hell did this?!"

"I was wondering if it were you," the Doctor says, who has his sonic in one hand and a furrowed, worried expression on his face. "I thought there was someone there. I take it it's not. Whatever 'it' is, other than a mouse that nearly took a chunk out of my leg."

He doesn't seem that alarmed about this, but the expression on his face, serious and intense, belies that.

"Whoa-what? You think I did this?" Tsuzuki sputters. "I brought in the critters, but I'd like to know who hexed them to grow that big."

"Not anymore," he says, "I thought whoever was hiding themselves might, but no, I don't think this is you. Not the right flavor." He sticks his tongue out, seeming to be tasting the air, almost, though mostly he looks disgusted. "Nasty, nasty stuff. This is ugly, beyond ugly. I don't like it."

Mal was rummaging in the cupboards, looking for a can of tomatoes to toss into the stew he was about to make, when he opened a cabinet door and unleashed a garter snake as long as himself and as big around as his arm. He staggered back, cursing and grabbing for a chair to hold it back, while he unholsters his pistol...

Just at that moment, Guinevere walks in. Sees the snake.

And SCREAMS.

It's unclear, however, if she's afraid for the man or the snake at this point.

Considering her history with a certain type of snake, anything is possible.

"[Goddamn it to Satan's chamberpot], where'd that come from," he mutters. And then he spies Gwen. "Better stay back, yer queenliness, it's 'bout get a bit fierce in here." He jabs at the snake with the chair, trying to anger it into rearing up and opening its mouth so he can fire down the thing's throat.

Instead, the snake clamps down on his boot.

Guinevere stares, pauses for breath, and screams again.

Watching the humans freaking out at the creepy critters -- or fighting them, or chasing them -- is a huge pile of hysterical, but Ryuk has to see where they're heading...

Which is when he finds the decayed carnival. Oooh... looks like a neighborhood festival in Tokyo, only messier and more... interesting. That's when he spies a candied apple booth. Hm. Maybe he'll get lucky and find some...

Big. Creepy. WITH TEETH. Never mind the apples.

Doesn't that look like a fucked up Grendel if Niko's ever seen one, at least at first glance.

And that's why he's unsheathed his sword and is already bracing, despite the fact that Niko currently looks like he's been through the bowels of Abbagor another time.

Though to be more precise, we'd have to call it the bowels of the friggin' largest dragonfly he's ever seen.

Just had this random thought. Niko died in RP canon, so hope that's okay? And he'll have to meet Mal, when he's less busy. ^^

Ryuk pulls his head out of a box of shriveled caramel apples that are little better than apples from the Shinigami Realm. "Blegh... nothin' good here," he mutters. And then he sees the slimed-up dude with the sword. "Whoa, yah got into a fight with one of the big-ass bugs?" he asks, grinning.

Perfectly fine by me! I extended the "dead people can see him" rule to apply to anyone who's died at the Mansion without a reset.

"No, it's my Sunday look," Niko replies tartly. "Who are you?"

Still holding the sword and bracing. Whatever this thing is, Niko thinks, it's not eating a piece of Rom fighter tonight.
