It has taken time for this to happen, for the Dark Lord to gather it all, his influence of that which is not Arda but close enough to it, that which he hates about all else for the light of it remains a beacon

Ned wakes from a nightmare just as the first tremors commence, and he will always thank the old gods for it. There was a faint shift, and then the bed started to shake. Instinctively, he hops out, and takes his wife by the shoulder.
Falkor is lucky, as ever. He was out when it all happened, but he had a sort of inner instinct that something was amiss, and plunged back from the heavens, out towards the house, to try to rescue who he could.
He's too big to get inside, but anyone caught out in the cold can find shelter with the luckdragon, and anyone on the outskirts of the Mansion might be close enough for him to help with his dexterous paws.
So it turns out Eda was one of the few people outside the mansion when the quake happened and is watching the mansion get torn apart from the outside in. She remains calm, but she remains concerned...
Shadow had been living the life - well, as close as it could be, anyway. No job, and little normality, but thanks to Jacquel, he had Laura, if only for a night.
And then, and then.
The ground shook and everything fell on top of him, and he was zonked out for a while. A window was broken - cold wind blowing in, and you'd have thought Hinzelmann might show up, or something.
Instead, Mike Einsel, Balder, Shadow Moon froze and froze in his unconscious daze, until he opened his eyes and found himself murmuring....
"Laura?"
But she's gone, babe. She's gone, ashes to ashes and smoke to smoke.
This can't be good, this can't be good - and perhaps it was the dream of Gondolin, the dream of the fall, the dream of everything - but Aredhel has been calling out to her son with the power of her mind, calling out to Maeglin - it wasn't enough, and Celegorm, bless his heart, said he would go.
He hasn't come back, and she wouldn't risk the girls' safety, not after she saw her own brother fall, trying to protect them. She is crying quietly, huddled with her daughters under a makeshift shelter of broken furniture, and trying not to cry.
It's not working very well.
Yeeeeeeah, dead brother, dead husband, dead cousins, dead son. Life: not so good to Ar, just now.
Cele is bloody as he staggers through the mansion and most of it isn't his. It smears his hands where he desperately shook the lifeless body of his father, soaked into his knees as he pleaded with his uncle to wake up and go to his children. Neither moved, their lives already fled, and all he could do was pick up their swords and go in search of his uncle's wife and children. Someone would have to ensure that they made it out of the crumbling house safely. He slings his father's blade across his back and carries Celegorm's to give to Aredhel when he finds her.
He calls her name as he approaches her rooms, desperately hoping that he won't find her and the girls in the same state as his father and uncle.
He is grateful for the touch of her mind assuring him that she is safe, and he thinks back at her, trusting her to read his answer. They are dead. Father, and Tyelkormo. They are dead.
Not even an honorable death in battle like he knows they would have preferred. Crushed by falling debris is an ignoble way for such warriors to die. His father would have raged at the injustice of it.
Well, Cyrano is in a bit of trouble. He's not wounded exactly - but the way everything fell around him, he's actually boxed in. He can still call out, he can still be seen through the cracks, but he could really use a hand.
This is not a duel or even traditional war. This is a natural disaster, and he was not, in any way, prepared for it.
Outside there's his pink-haired daughter calling out for him, panicked herself. She hasn't gone through such chaos since her Kingdom was invaded when she was young.

Ned doesn't hesitate as he grabs the covers from the bed - everything is shaking too much, walking is an added risk.
"A quake," he explains. "Here."
He wraps her in a blanket, huddled against a wall, then gets more, and more, and more of those cushy things. He'll use himself to protect her too.
He's not losing her again, or the baby.

"Whoo-hooo! anyone need help?"
He's in fact visibly lucky at this point - it's like the falling boulders are deliberately avoiding him.
And yes, Falkor is ignoring the rude nun, thank you very much.

So he's blinking, computing, bit slower than usual, and he's already a tad slow.
".... yeah, I noticed," he finally says. "Don't bother helping me up."

"Fuck... sorry sorry about that."
She will be helping you out Shadow, by clearing out the rubble and getting you to safety.

When Reese has died, she'll come to him.
Before that, Celebrimbor might feel a sleek caress to his mind, to tell him.
I am here, though you do not see me.
Together, we are strong, and we will overcome everything.
Tagging Aredhel in after this one :-)
