[Introduction]; We're not in Kansas anymore.

She could have sworn she'd just opened the door to her room. But instead of four familiar walls, her bed, there iss a decidedly unfamiliar room that looks nothing at all like any room she's ever seen in Winterfell. The door under her hand even feels unfamiliar; the wood treated to be glossy and smooth. Arya takes a step back, letting the door swing ( Read more... )

Stark is probably not the ... best person to try and console an upset child, but he's in a good enough mood to give it a shot. He's a bit dirty and sweaty from a workout by the lake and just coming back up to the mansion when the little girl comes out of seemingly nowhere and he nearly trips over her.

"Whoa there kiddo. Don't want to get stepped on." Especially not by a big, scared, gruff looking man either.

Welcome! Most of my characters are of the ... less than normal sort, but if there's someone you'd like to see, I have a list here.

Arya manages to keep from falling as she collides with the large stranger, and with an alarmed sound she scrambles back a few steps. The presence of someone else leaves her uncertain, and she studies him a long moment before speaking.

"...Sir? Where are we? What is this place?"

Oh. She's new. And you're bad at this Stark. Try not to make the kid cry at least?

"Um... Well, most of the people here call this place The Mansion. It's ... kind of like a big hotel. Or inn." She looks like she'd be more familiar with 'inn' than 'hotel'. "An inn that lots of people stay at." The big man thinks for a moment, then crouches to be a bit more level with the kid.

"You just get here?"

She's more likely to get grumpy than cry to be honest.

"...But... that doesn't explain how I got here! I was at home! And this isn't the nearest inn!" Is someone confused? Yes. Is someone getting upset? Oh you'd best believe it. Fidgeting, she ran her hands over her skirts, taking a moment to think, and remember her manners.

"I... yes, I just arrived."

If she ventures into the main room, she might find a young-looking knight there, reading from a small, thick book as he paces the room slowly, even meditatively.

He's easily interrupted, even in his meditations and prayers.

Given she intends to explore the place from basement to attic, it comes as no surprise that she finds her way to the main room. She pauses when she notices the man reading, hoping she wasn't bothering him, uncertain if he'd wanted others entering the room... though if that were the case, he could have closed the doors so she's not too concerned..

"Excuse me, my lord."

He looks up from the book, smiling to her and marks his place in the volume before closing it. "May the Lord be with you, my young lady," he says, bowing to her.

She returns the bow with a curtsey, though his greeting does earn a confused look. "...The Lord, my lord?" She inquired. The way he said it hinted at some religious figure, but she was unfamiliar with it.

Oh it is not.

Robb was just coming up from the lake when he glimpsed what looked like a familiar young girl backing away from the mansion, and stopped, dead. Grey Wind had no such consideration. Grey Wind broke into a bounding run, tongue lolling, and only a moment behind the big grey direwolf rapidly approaching comes a shout of a familiar voice, if slightly deepened from what Arya knows. "Arya!"

It so is.

Arya is well versed in direwolf sounds, and so she turns only to see one running towards her. She can tell it's not aggressive however it takes her a moment. That looks like a bigger version of Robb's wolf...

"Grey Wind?"

Her attention is pulled by the shout not an instant later, this too familiar, though somewhat different.

"...Robb? Robb is that you?"

Grey Wind is almost gamboling around her legs, just barely refraining from knocking her over. Robb, coming running up, is less restrained, simply picking Arya up (typist willing) and spinning her in a circle. "Arya! Little sister- yes, it's me! It's me, and you're really - are you all right? Tell me you're all right," going from joyful to worried in a hot big brother moment.

She squeals as she's caught up, throwing her arms around his neck in a hug as she's spun, left slightly breathless by the enthusiasm.

"I'm fine Robb, really!" She replies, the worry in his tone enough to make her concerned as well.

Here's a face that never expected to see you again. Ever. Nor was particularly inclined to. Ever. Last he saw of Arya, she was refusing to give him the mercy of a quick death. He was not terribly pleased about it. Still has the slightly uneven gait to prove it. Though it doesn't show at the moment. At the moment, here's one (half) scarred knight, wolfing down some meat in the kitchen. He won't bite!

Hard.

Probably.

If she knew about this, she'd apologize.

Only, more than likely not.

Arya comes into the kitchen from the outside entrance, stopping when she notices the man there. The man was familar; one that had arrived in Winterfell with the king and his entourage, as far as she recalls.

"Pardon me, sir." No need to be rude, even if she only intended to pass through.

Sandor doesn't glance up for a moment, just growling, "Not a buggering," reflexively, more than anything, and then he looks up. And his eyes narrow almost to slits. "You."

She has a lot more hair than last time he saw her. Clearly its been a while. He hopes fucking Braavos has been kind to her. (Thought more than likely she'd end up with his fucking brother. Apparently not. Clever little wolf bitch.)

She's not sure what his problem is... maybe just not a fan of the Starks?

"...Was everyone in Winterfell brought here?" She asks in a somewhat baffled tone, looking bewildered.

Should Arya go exploring outside, she won't have to look far to find something she's never seen before.

Namely a massive, red-orange-and-purple dragon, covered in spikes, curled up on one of the lawns, apparently asleep. And radiating steam, as always. Meet Iskierka. (The only firebreather in Britain, as she will be certain to tell you.) She is not actually sleeping, just being lazy. And is always happy to meet new admirers.

Of course she'll go outside. And when she sees that dragon will stop dead in her tracks, eyes widening in shock.

"A real live dragon...!" She breathes out in stunned disbelief, taking in every detail that she can see. She's torn; on one hand, it would be wise to retreat, dragons are dangerous; on the other hand, Sir Stark had mentioned that not all friendly people look like humans... did that include dragons? This one certainly looks mild enough.

And she wants to get a better look, so that decides it. She starts closer, pausing a short but still respectful distance away, studying Iskiera with unabashed curiosity.

"Good afternoon, sir dragon!" Do dragons understand spoken words? Looks like she'll find out!

Iskierka opens one very large, golden eye at the hail, and examines Arya for a moment. "I am not a sir, properly," says Iskierka, rather loftily, in a definitely feminine voice, if somewhat low. And very clearly spoken. If slightly accented. "But I suppose it is more polite than some of the ways that people here seem inclined to greet me. You are very small. Are you a hatching?"

idkmybffnymeria June 28 2012, 05:55:26 UTC
Well. This dragon understood quite well! And given her manner of speech, Arya is quite at ease labeling her as a noble dragon.

"Apologies, my Lady!" Even apologizing, her excitement is plain, a smile growing on her face as she comes to the conclusion that yes, this is a friendly dragon. "I am yes, though to humans a hatchling is a 'child'. My name is Arya Stark... might I know who it is I have the pleasure of speaking with?" Yes. She will pull out all the polite stops, because this is a dragon and she's talking with her, which automatically makes this the most incredible day ever in Arya's opinion.
