Last night after auditions we went to Barbette and had a lovely dinner of mussels steamed in white wine, shallot and lemon broth, nicoise salad, pommes frites with saffron oil and a well paired bottle of burgundy.

It was pretty amazing.
I'd never heard of it before, so it was fun to try something new.

I love Barbette. I haven't been in forever. A friend of mine actually just became their executive chef. Perhaps that could result in gettin' hooked up.

I only recently discovered it, and it's my new favorite place. It even surpasses Leaning Tower,* in my estimation (GASP!!)

*The editors wish to note that although Carin is fond of the Tower for it's atmosphere and proximation, she does not consider the food particularly good. Except for those Dynabites. Those are heaven on a plate.

I love Barbette. That's our official celebration zone.

I think Alexis Bailey (local vineyard) has a lovely Ratafia- perhaps even the same one as Barbette. We got a bottle once as a gift. I should find more of that!

Alexis Bailey is where I first met Ratafia - their's is particularly tasty. Also, it comes in a most awesome shaped and colored bottle. Yum.

Yeah, Barbette. We went there for the 1st (& so far only) time on our 7th anniversary and loved it. 3+ years is too long to stay away from such a lovely place. We seek to rectify this issue...
