We're playing two shows next week - both free, both in Saint Paul!

Tuesday, 16 October: Amsterdam Bar with My God, The River! and Clocks & Clouds.  Doors 9:00, we go on around 11:30.  Looks like a great venue with lovely food/drinks/folks. 21 and over.

Bad September had their CD release for Austria-Hungary 1957 last night at the Bryant Lake Bowl.  We had a blast.  Scott Keever kicked off the evening with a great set, and he joined us for the last few tunes as well.

We were able to take our time, have fun, and delve a bit more into the Why and How of our songs.  That was the only time we'll play ( Read more... )

Well, June was a crazy, fun time for Bad September.  We played three shows at Upright Egg's Songbird, had a wonderful night sharing a parlour show with Eli August, then capped off the month with a set on the Harmonic CONvergence stage at CONvergence 2011.

So my last full day consisted of packing, sweating, watching a run of DRACULA, and sweating some more.  aerie_queen, Éowyn, Dad & Barb arrived in Bemidji around 6:30!  We met for dinner at Brigid's, and there was much rejoicing.  My beautiful wife & daughter once again filled my arms.  When I went to get ready for call, the gang went to see Paul & Babe.

Ari Hoptman's show called 86% FUNNY was a blast.  I needed a good set of laffs that day, and he delivered.  It wasn't as well-attended as last year's show ($10 this year instead of $5; worth every penny, perhaps it disuaded some folks), but the crowd that was there had a lot of fun.

Great crowd!  Close to 250 (biggest audience yet this season).  Granted, matinees are half-price, but the crowd really dug it.  And there was a group of about 50 from an art club, so the cards were dealt in our favor.

Ann Klecker & her husband Don were in town & saw the show.  They had a great time!  We went to Brigid's Cross afterwards & chatted over a couple drinks.  Usually when I see those two it's at a crowded work thing & we don't get to talk much, so it was fun to get some quality time in together.
