Lord Jones, I have finished with your book. When would be a convenient time to return it to you?

[She glances down at the copy of the play in her lap.]This has been a - a most insightful play. Inaccurate in regard to details, but accurate in spirit, I think. Though I can but hope Lord Shakespeare has misrepresented my Romeo's actions near the ( Read more... )

[She can guess that Juliet isn't really as composed as she seems; no one could be, after reading a story like that, and knowing it relates to them somehow. Even if it's a story of a distant past, or another world, it's a shock. So Usagi is tactfully quiet when she replies.]

Do you want to hang out awhile? [She offers distraction.] We could work on something while we talk. [She offers an open ear. And arms for hugs.]

[Usagi would be guessing correctly on that.]

I - I would like that, yes.

[And while her rare tactful streak continues, she asks:]

Is now alright?

Now would be fine. You are welcome to come here for a visit, if you like. I am sure Spike will not mind.

Princes are rarely fair.

It must have been interesting to read a story like that - about yourself.

Our Prince has never been anything but fair, Lord Mukuro.

[She hesitates for a moment.]

Interesting is a good word to use, yes.

I've read that story, in my world. I did consider if you might be that Juliet.

How accurate is it?

[Her eyes widen for a moment at that, before she adopts an almost resigned look.]

Another who knew of my story before I did. Should this Lord Shakespeare ever find himself here, I must thank him, I suppose, for finding my family of enough interest to write a play.

It is accurate in terms of the main events, and the sequence of those events, to the best of my knowledge. At home, I have just sent Nanny to Friar Laurence, so I do not know what happens beyond that from personal experience. It is in the details where the story varies from the truth I know.

The ending is the same as what you saw, Juliet?

[She nods.]

I - I did not expect it to be very different.

-=He nods. He's not going to say he's sorry, though he does feel bad. No one has a choice when they're called back.=-

Then it is important to make the most of here.

I intend to. That is something I have always wished to do, and that I hope I am doing. Even if what waited for me at home were different, I would want to make the most of my time here.

It is selfish, but I - I hope I am able to stay for a long time.

It was a purrlay about people you know?

[Another troll. She takes a moment to wonder if this is one who was mean to Vriska, then decides it matters not at the moment, as the girl is being polite to her, and nods.]

Yes, written after the lot of us were long dead. It is quite odd to read a play about people you know, and to imagine them speaking the words another has written for them.

Ohh, you're right, that has to be so furry furry weird! Why would someone write a purrlay like that? Were you all famous?

capuletnomore January 8 2012, 20:49:51 UTC
I know not why the playwright chose to write about us all. I would not have thought us famous at all.

Are you alright? [Because he's totally willing to come over and give her a hug. He owes her one anyway.]

I - I believe so. It is most odd, to read such a thing. To see where Lord Shakespeare has embellished or created parts from whole cloth. It - know you if the things that happen to the others are accurate, Doctor? I know of myself and of Romeo, but Count Paris and Benvolio, and Romeo's Lady Mother...is all of that true, think you, or has it been embellished?

[She can use all the hugs she can get.]

Hmm. Weeeeeeell. I do happen to know Will, and he seems more of the embellishing type, but I can't say for sure. [sympathetic smile] Would you like some company? I can bring the kittens with me.

You know the man who has written this play? Should he ever find himself here, think you that you could arrange a proper meeting for the two of us? I would like to hear from his own lips how he came upon my story in the first place.

[She'll smile in return.]

I am always glad of your company, Doctor. And I am certain Carina would enjoy meeting your Koschei and Theta.
