"Hey." He paused, glancing around. All the bright, exciting sights and noises of a semi-busy arcade were hell on his ADHD, but he was still managing. "How was school?" Nico had spent the past week dodging the government people who wanted him to go back, personally.

She had no intention of bothering Nico about it, but if the government workers were harassing him about going back to school, she planned on suggesting the Institute. The teachers were nice, and as a school that catered to imPorts, were accustomed to things that were out of the ordinary.
"What kind of game do you want to try first? I was looking at that game over there," she said, pointing to the shooter game occupied by the two older boys, "but it's being played right now."

Unfortunately, Nico was soured on the idea of the Institute after accidentally broadcasting his necromantic escapades over the network. It seemed only the other kids like Lily and Lyra that had been at all reasonable about it; everyone else called him evil or assumed he was too stupid to understand and operate his own abilities without harming the dead or unleashing them on the city. Needless to say, he wasn't big on the idea of an Import-run place that was supposed to help people with their powers.
"... Maybe they'll be done soon." Dr. Crane had given him an X-Box and a shooter title for Christmas, so he figured he'd be better at the game Lily pointed out than most of the others. Plus the fact that older kids were already playing it made it seem all the more appealing. "It looks cool."
