We're home.  The house still smells smoky, we probably have a month's worth of cleanup between the partial job the contractors did cleaning up and cleaning up after the contractor's, but we're home. I get to sleep in my own bed, I get to have puppies around all the time, and I get to be ordered around by my kitty.  On balance, life is good.

We had a house fire early Friday morning.  The lint trap on the dryer caught fire.  The smoke alarms woke us up in time to get out and minimise damage.  We got the dogs out with us, and found the cat alive and very stressed, but otherwise okay, a bit before midday Friday ( Read more... )

 So I work in a supermarket.  It's not a particularly wonderful job, but it pays the bills.  Yesterday I was in the self serve area for the morning.  A gentleman came through and asked if he could get cash out when he paid by EFTPOS.  I said yes and walked him through the process.  All per usual ( Read more... )
