no it's never gonna be that simple

I suspect you would all like a post about my trip to Florida. I haven't really felt like writing one yet, so for now, be content with some picturesInstead, I am going to bitch about my lack of internship. Hey, guess what, I still don't have one yet! What's killing me most is the fact that every single time I get the slightest chance of a lead, ( Read more... )

I ABSOLUTELY FEEL YOU ON THE RANTING. I AM READY FOR STORMING AND ALSO I WOULD LIK TO STORM PEOPLE WHO ARE JERKS ABOUT MY CAREER CHOICES LIKE "OMG ARE YOU REALLY APPLYING HERE IN FLORIDA?" BITCH I LIVE HERE SO YES I AM. AND ALSO PEOPLE WHO ASK "HAVE YOU FOUND A JOB YET?" I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN I HAVE PEOPLE IT WILL BE A JOYOUS DAY.

Also, cute bikini and lol at your lizard pictures. I had like 8 of those on my porch tonight so I made Olive go chase them.

A lot of the teachers I'm working with now are trying to find summer jobs doing things like working at a golf course. Now, if you hate sun that might not be the best, but if you have country clubs like we do (there are 4 within 10 miles of me) then an indoor waitressing job might exist.

YES OMIGOD PEOPLE ASKING ME IF I'VE FOUND MY INTERNSHIP YET MAKE ME WANT TO STAB MYSELF IN THE EYE. SERIOUSLY if I had one, I would be telling EVERYONE I saw, even complete strangers, probably! UGH.

Thanks! I got it from Target! Haha, and yeah, we used to always enjoy the lizards when we went to visit my grandparents every summer, so it's been awhile since we'd seen them.

Yeah, I'm not averse to waitressing, I just want to find someplace where I'll get decent hours and make some money.

There were no lizards in Tallahassee and it never even occurred to me until I moved back here and they were everywhere again.

Clearly these are animals I will not miss. Especially I will not miss them getting into my classroom and causing chaos. Also I will nto miss them JUMPING ONTO MY BACK FROM MY DOOR FRAME. Seriously lizards, be considerate.

Okay, yeah, the jumping I could do without too. I probably would be annoyed by them, too, if I lived there and had to deal with them all the time.

I don't know what your field is but have you ever checked out internships in Washington D.C.? There are tons of them in all kinds of fields.

I'm going into school psychology. And I haven't looked in DC because I'd like to go north; I really don't want to go farther away from my boyfriend than I already am. Granted if that becomes my only option, I might consider it, but I'm really pretty opposed to moving any further away at this point.

Have you considered looking at what airlines offer direct flights between where he lives and where they are? I don't know about international flights, so I may be completely making a terrible suggestion, but direct might be cheaper and quicker from somewhere further south than further north. I do know you like to drive though, right? Or bus it?

I usually drive because it's cheaper than flying, and I doubt that would change much if I went further south. However my biggest concern aside from location is whether or not it's a paid internship, and going south doesn't necessarily guarantee me being paid. I know that New York pays, which is why I've been looking there so hard . . . I feel like SOMETHING has to come up; it's a big state. So I would rather exhaust any and all northern paying options before I look elsewhere.

Ugh, I feel you. I think I must have been the absolute last person in the nursing program to get a job, and it was stressful to the extreme. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Uggh. I'd be frustrated as all hell by now too. Sorry you're having a crap of a time lately :/

It DOES help to feel a bit better by venting here on the ole LJ though ehh?

Thanks, Erin. Eh, it helps a little bit to get it all out, but it doesn't actually change anything. :-/

Yeah, that's how it is when ya vent on LJ. Temporarily you feel a huge sigh of relief, then realize - oh, problems still here. DAMN!

*HUGS*
