It being That Time Of Year again, I have been dragged screaming from the depths of my comfy chair and forced at knifepoint to suffer sea, sand, Sangria and sun. Yes, here I am, basking under the Majorcan sun. Pity me.

To be more accurate, I am not so much basking as cowering, as my good, traditional Scottish skin doesn't do basking, it does ( Read more... )

I must be the only one who didn't know that about gin and tonic! I'm fascinated now and want to try my nightly G&T under ultra-violet light! Little things...

I saw a card which reminded me of you the other day. It had a bottle of gin on it and the words, "All you need is love....and gin and tonic". A motto for life, I think!

LOL ! We are playing it safe and holidaying in Colwyn Bay. The rain is making attractive concentric circles upon the surface of my Tetley Redbush :0)

Yes, I remember those sort of holidays... I have a feeling that I am rather more cut out for that sort of climate than the sunny variety!

ah yes... reflected sunlight and I are well-aquainted. Got one of the worst burns I'd ever had on my honeymoon, sitting under a beach umbrella, wearing sunscreen,... damn reflective properties of sand.

I didn't know that about G&T!! The thing I learn by reading your journal...

Well I was seriously under-acquainted with the reflective properties of walls! I really felt quite miffed - it wasn't like the time I got a sunburned arse snorkelling in Thailand - I really felt I'd taken semi adequate measures. Ah well, you live and learn. I am now at the blistered-and-peeling stage. Very attractive :-P
