For my article this month (which let me tell you, is one of my least favorite areas of ministry) I'm writing about good deeds you can do in 5 minutes or less. I get sick of people saying they don't have time to make a difference.

Say "Thank you" to people. The waiter, the gas station attendant, the parking garage guy, the grocery cashier, whomever.

It makes a difference.

It only takes a minute to go online and sign a petition for a cause you believe in.

That said, I am a bigger fan of doing something that stands a chance of having an impact. Depending on where you live this may not be possible in five minutes, but you can pick up a few extra cans of food while you're already at the grocery store and drop them off at your local food bank on the way home.

Also, it doesn't take more than five minutes to give to a charity you support.

This a word building vocabulary game which donates rice as you play. Its pretty cool.

Also, this sounds corny but voting is definitely something you can do to make a difference. Hopefully this will only take five minutes but given lines it could take more.

Giving complements. People often think that others realize that you appreciate them. However, people rarely say it.

Speaking of... Cara, I love the way that you include details in your posts. It makes me feel like I am still included in your life despite the distances.
