weddings & an update on the movie quotes

so i went to a wedding this past saturday, & i suppose it was alright, as far as weddings go.  i've come to the conclusion that weddings are most fun under the following circumstances:
1.  you attend as a guest
2.  you are good friend of the bride/groom or both
3.  you are good friends with most, if not all of the other guests
4.  food & music are good

Ah... Is #4 from that terrific Hong Kong movie that was the template for The Departed? I can't remember what it's called... just that the sequel was so rotten I couldn't make myself sit for the third one.

nope - got them all, but you have to give me the name for #4. :D i can't believe someone else actually saw it!! great movie, isn't it? yeah, i heard the 2nd one sucked too, but that the 3rd is much better - not as good as the original, as usual in trilogies that didn't start out that way.

And good! I shall watch the third one, then. It's just that the second one basically substituted snatches of music from the first one for character development and emotional arc, and I was Not Pleased.

As a measure of how terrific it is, it managed to completely win me over despite the fact that I watched it with my astromovie peeps entirely convinced I was going to tolerate sitting through it simply for the pleasure of their company. I am generally not a fan of gangster movies, and not all the oscars of The Departed could convince me I wanted to watch that either.

Ah, so good, though. Maybe I'll skip watching the third and just rewatch the first.

Delving into the souls of men while being totally kickass. Yay.
