So. Thursday.

So it's six-fifteen in the morning -- or was, anyway, time has slipped a bit since then -- and I'm at work, anticipating a heady Thursday filled with scrambling to hit deadlines, vast amounts of training, visiting the comic book store, attending my Weight Watchers meeting, and watching a new episode of 'The O.C.'. So basically, if I can survive ( Read more... )

OK, you rock like a serious chunk of granite for that snakeskin idea. [ "We're not worthy ! We're not worthy !" ]. Am almost tempted to follow your lead, save that I won't have time to go buy something apt today.

It makes perfect sense, and means I get to amuse myself by contrasting the flavours of comprehension (which range from 'deeply amused' to 'deeply annoyed', depending on the intelligence, tolerance and religious creed of the onlooker). My life is a simple one, and I make my own fun.

I definitely have to agree as far as the Ultimate titles go. I really can't wait for the second half of Ultimate Nightmare to start up (details left vague to avoid spoilers).

Thaaaaaaank you for helping in my campaign for a spoiler-free world (at least spoiler-without-warning-free, since I'm all for spoilers I expect). I am loving the current arcs in everything but 'Ultimate X-Men', and 'UX', I'm still willing to wait and see.

....anyone who pinches me is going to get reminded in a big way that hello, snakes bite, and attempts to drive me out of Ireland will be poorly received at best.

I thought I heard that St. Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland was a metaphor for Christianity "driving out" the pagan religions (e.g. the druids). Naw, they just went underground.

There's a most excellent small-kids' book called Waiting for the Thursday Boat about a grumpy giant who is peeved that all his friends among the snakes and elves and other giants have been driven away by St. Patrick, and what happens to him.

Can you email me katta9 AT inreach DOT com when you have a moment? I've realized that while I'm fairly sure I know where your WW meeting place is (shopping center where the comic shop & TJ's is yes?) I'm not so sure where the Appleby's is.

Lo, it hath been done, with a suggestion of an alternate (easier to find) place to go for the eating. Partially because I kinda need to get a twenty-point dinner at this point, and that's going to be hard in a place where my usual dinner is only five.
