Um.

My square-dancing skirt -- denim top, brightly-coloured Southwestern-patterned bottom which frills and twirls most delightfully -- last fit me sometime around the year 2000, when I was helping on the bid for the Phoenix Westercon. I know that it fit me then, because I have pictures of myself wearing it (and sitting in Patrick's lap). I also know ( Read more... )

That is SO cool. I occasionally feel like weeping when I think of all the clothes I gave to salvation army when we sold our house and went on the road in an RV for a year. OY! There was some gorgeous stuff that would fit me know or soon.

Oh well.

Now I'm just trying to get back down to the "new" jeans I bought last year. C'est la vie. I'll lose it again. Hey - you've inspired me - I'll get on the darned bike for a few minutes even if it is midnight, what the heck, I'll probably sleep better if I do! :-)

Yay!

I think the coolest thing about chronicling weight loss via LJ -- or any community, but this is the one I've picked -- is the way that we're all inspiring one another and keeping each other moving. It's just keen.

Hugs for you!

Putting on my Pollyanna hat, at least you gave some folks-shopping-at-Salvation-Army really cool clothes to happen across and Love Forever. :->

True enough! I know I've found a few things I love at Salvation Army's through the years. In fact, I really ought to try harder to find some around here. I love buying myself clothes as a reward for exercise or as an alternate to food comfort but let's face it, on my budget it's not practical. But Salvation Army would allow that once in a while! :-)

Go you! I've been trying to lose weight, but haven't had the dedication or success that you have :)

I'm a girl on a deadline, and I'm workin' it like nobody's business. Good luck!

Thank you! Somehow this is more solid than 'my pants size has gone down at least one level'. I can wear my skirt again. Whoa.

Of course, my goal involves being unable to wear the skirt because it's way too big, but hey...
