So. Tired.

The time change is killing me this year. I can't go to sleep, no matter what I do (no caffeine after four, caffeine right before bed, no alcohol, alcohol, no over-stimulation, lots of over-stimulation). I've even tried running laps around the house, which usually scares the cats but knocks me right out. Nothing works. I get in the bed at nine- ( Read more... )

There's no shame in seeking treatment for a condition that's having this level of ill effect. There's also no shame in calling in sick, which I am doing today.

If you do call the doctor's office, which sounds like a good plan to me, you might ask about over the counter melatonin tablets. My stepson takes a medication that gives him a level of insomnia, and when we reported that, the doc recommended melatonin instead of something like Ambien, as it is a bit more natural to the system. I follow suit when I need a sleep time reset, which happens from time to time. Hugs and hope its better soon.

I am very sorry that the time change is f***ing with you this year. No sleep sucks. Have a hug.
I "hear your voice" in my head on my commute every day, these days. While reading, too ...! ;-))
It's... well, to me, Verity is so very much like you (or maybe you are like her, or the lines are hazy or whatever) that anything she "says" (thus, pretty much most of the book so far since you write in first person) comes out straight in your voice ;-))
It is very entertaining (in a fantastic way) :)

I know that I get that way when I'm under too much stress. Unfortunately, I'm short on useful suggestions for reducing your stress level.
