1. Yeah, still scarce. I have found my limit, and my limit is sadly concrete. I'm posting semi-regularly at seanan_mcguire, largely because we've hit Book Promo Time (whee); the posting frequency there will go up as we approach actual publication. While I hardly count as a Real Friend (or even a real acquaintance) to be answering the "what's new with you?" question... I am very much over the moon with glee that my husband's CPAP machine has arrived. He's snored since I met him, and finally I got tired of the times when he'd stop breathing in the night (thus making me stay awake so I could nudge him back to breathing), griped about it on my LJ, had some people talk about sleep apnea, and bugged him to ask about it at his next annual physical.

This got a test in the hospital which confirmed that he had it really badly (with something like 108 out of a possible 130 "incidents," based on how they figure incidents and how many of them will max-out their monitoring system). He had another test in the hospital on a CPAP where he came back more perky and cheerful than he's been for years, on far less sleep, and had me sort of goggling in tearful glee about it

But if anyone says "Mee Meep", I'm not going.

I have saved up my money, and gods willing, will be going skydiving on our around my birthday (May 19th). Pray that when I pull the cord, an anvil does not not come out in place of a parachute.

* "sympathetic" meaning "people you get along with automatically." I couldn't think of a better word for what I meant.

In a week or so, I will know whether I won the Blizzard Creative Writing Contest. Fifteen hundred entries. If I win, I get a sword! If I'm a runner-up, I get a bunch of games. No idea how good the others are, but I'm cocky enough to think that my stuff rises a bit above the normal fan-fare.
