1. Yeah, still scarce. I have found my limit, and my limit is sadly concrete. I'm posting semi-regularly at seanan_mcguire, largely because we've hit Book Promo Time (whee); the posting frequency there will go up as we approach actual publication. I'll try to keep things updated over here, too, but it's sort of like running uphill during an avalanche at this ( Read more... )

Physical therapy is love. The best PT will make you hate everyone and swear a lot, until you wake up tomorrow and discover that everything hurts less.

Here's hoping that your PT goes very well, and that you wake up with less hurt.

In other news, I start classes *tomorrow* for my education in the Culinary Arts. I am both terrified and filled with glee.

I've discovered that "wow, I really hate this" is secret code for "oooh, let's do *that* some more."

I went at 8:00 Sunday mornings. Say what you like. If you hate it, SWITCH.

OH OH OH SHIT. Forgot.

Have you heard any of the new Michael McDonald album? It's all covers of some awesome old Motown soul - with his hinky piano bounces running through it in the background.

Pure gold-hammered AWESOME. Get you some, chill out. I bought a copy of the album (Soul Speak) and I gotta get it ripped so I can shuffle it. REALLY nice.

What's new with me is that I finally got tired of my overweightness (I don't look as heavy as I actually am, because I gain weight all over instead of just in my butt/tummy/thighs/whatever), and am getting things arranged to attend the WW meeting this evening at the WW center two doors down from my job. Having just one person (my mother-in-law) go to meetings isn't doing my motivation to lose weight any good, and I think I need the personal support to shed these extra 50 pounds I've packed on since high school.

This is an utterly random day to make this decision, but I think it's the right one to make. The hardest part is going to be figuring out which days will be best for me, since the two I can attend after work would either involve waiting half an hour before check-in, or booking it over there as soon as I got off work and potentially being late. (a.k.a. 5:30 or 6:30, when I get off work at 5:25.) We'll see.

Aside from that, my husband is really looking forward to the day the cat gets fixed, so she will 1) stop presenting to him ( ... )

As long as you get off work reliably on time, the 5:30 will probably work for you. WW meetings are structured so that they start letting people weigh in at the scheduled start time, and the meeting proper generally starts 15 min to half an hour later, depending on session volume. So you'd probably end up at the tail end of the line, but someone has to be at the tail end or the process never finishes!

um...end random person sticking her nose into your business.

Actually, it's different at this one. You can start coming in a half-hour before the scheduled time to weigh in. But I discussed with the volunteers at the meeting today, and they said coming in a few minutes late is no big deal.

I'm reminded that when Neil Gaiman's started publishing novels, his life got busy and _never_stopped_. (Hey, you're the one who likes horror...)

Did my Velveteen sponsorship arrive? I feel I should probably have just fedexed you a case of Diet Dr. Pepper to save you a few steps.

(Hmmm... "By the power of Google!"...)

Or perhaps invoked these people:

I've been interviewing for jobs, and weighing the pros and cons of the ones that look like I might get offered.

Things proceed apace. I have a headcold. I do love my life.

It's good.
