State of the blonde.

So I'm back in California after a business trip to New York, where I saw many wonderful people, did many wonderful things, and failed to find the Jersey Devil in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. I've been in my home time zone for two whole days now. I'm still totally and unquestionably exhausted. To make matters even more entertaining, last night I ( Read more... )

I feel for you; when the Songbird brought her Maine coon, Rosita, home to meet her calico Lilith and the latter's son Ari (yes, the same Ari the Humongous Orange Tabby™ who now lives with me), the house was like living in a snake pit for weeks as the two ladies hissed and spat at each other. They did eventually settle down to a sort of mutual détente, though occasionally Lily will still swat poor Rosie for no good reason after she gets her claws clipped.

Maine coons are mostly long, luxuriant fur; sometimes I think if we shaved Rosie bald, she'd be nothing but a pair of eyes and a set of claws. They can be wonderful to curl up with, though. Be warned: they WILL shed, sometimes whole clumps of hair. Keep a broom and dustpan handy.

Wow, a Maine Coon and a Siamese in the same house. One thing's for sure: you will never be lacking in feline conversation.

If you do figure out how to establish peace, though, do post about it -- I've got a Maine Coon and I wanted to get her a sibling, but the only time she's co-habited with another cat it involved Other Cat living on top of the refrigerator for several weeks. Not good.

And you hit the Piney's to look for the Jersey Devil.
Have you seen the magazine "Weird NJ" ?
they constantly are looking for/writing about the NJD.

Hope you had a great trip.

As a CMT, I'm curious . . . what, exactly, is going on with your back? Do you have disk issues or other injury, or is it just cranky as all hell?

Ew. No good.

Considering you probably do a fair amount of sitting, have you ever received psoas work for your low back?

Lilly is going slowly insane

Wait a minute...I thought Meezers were born insane!

I might believe Lilly could go from "insane" to "completely unhinged" though...
