Style is up to you, as always

As the patchwork parade passes through,
And the paper piano that plays by itself
Isn't perfect, but still, it will do.
And the love of my life is the jewelry box girl
Who waits to begin the ballet,
And she's poised on one leg, ever-waiting to twirl,
And I never know quite what to say...
Tell the calico lion to save me a seat
And I'll bring all the china dolls down,
And they'll gossip and laugh as they sit at our feet,
Watching over our tiny toy town,
And the love of my life won't attend our parade,
But stand poised in antiquity's heart,
And I'd like to go to her, but I'm too afraid,
And I never know quite where to start...
Tell the calico lion I'll be a bit late,
But I'll be there, I swear, before long.
I just think that it's time, and I don't want to wait;
We'll dance to the carnival song,
For the love of my life has been too long alone
In her velvet and balsa-wood cell,
And it's time now to tell her what I've always known,
And I pray she can love me as well.
