BayCon -- let's get this party started (Friday afternoon).

(Recap: I was honoured with the position of Toastmistress at BayCon 2007, the longest-running general science fiction convention in the San Francisco Bay Area. Me plus Memorial Day Weekend plus a cast of thousands for the win! My convention report is taking a million years, a) because I'm way too detailed, and b) because there's lots to say. All we were missing was the Vaseline.

Do I even want to know what that's used for?

You put it on your teeth to make yourself smile bigger.

This can't actually work, can it?

Yeah, we used it for cheerleading competitions all the time, too. Because of the disgusting taste, you did NOT want to close your lips over your teeth, forcing you to smile, or at least make a weird face similar to it.

Ha! found you. princessmei June 11 2007, 23:00:52 UTC

* Megs! Megs is, quite possibly, the bubbliest person over the age of six that I have ever met in my life. Despite this, she's the opposite of annoying. Megs is soothing in her happycat self, and she did a lot to make the weekend awesome. Megs, too, can stay.

And so I stay. I'll make myself a nice little nest of pillows and down comforters and shiny baubles so I can play the bap-bap game. I am princess of the easily amused. A few shinies, a diet coke, and my boy to chew on and I am utterly content... until someone wafts the smell of steak under my nose and woe to those between me and meat.

Silliness on pause for a moment, I'm so very glad to have met you and Kate Baycon weekend. You made so many things fun. It was nice to sit at the bad girls table.

Speaking of bad girls, Kimmi and I are hosting a four evening Firefly party event at Westercon, complete with strawberries and bonbons and floating silk. Any way we could tempt you and Kate down?

Alas, we shall not be there -- I, at least, will be recovering from my guest slot weekend after this next one, and need the sleeeeeeeep.

The hotel was spacious, charming, and apparently laid out by gremlins on peyote who really and truly believed that no convention facility was complete without a tesseract, several hidden elevators, stairs that went absolutely nowhere, and a second-and-a-half floor.

What an awesome sounding hotel. I've stayed in hotels that had the secret hallways, random half floors, and odd corridors, but I'm envious of the tesseract.

1. I believe the Toastmistress should be allowed to kill and eat people, provided she eats them on toast. No toast, no cannibalism.

2. 'temporary no-sex lesbian girlfriend/manager of the Toastmistress'
However did you get that on the badge? :)

3. I shoot at the gazebo. The gazebo does not respond.

1. Absolute agreement.

2. Small print.

3. The gazebo says 'scroll to the bottom of this entry to see total hotness'

Wow. That is, indeed, total hotness. With teh hot.

I am also amused because I was seriously considering buying a dress that looks very much like that, except with sleeves. It's not quite our Lesbian Prom level of matching, but still...

The gazebo responded later in the weekend.
