The Doll Shop.

“Wonderful!”

Both boys dragged their eyes away from each other to stare at the shop owner.

She smiled pleasantly. It was going perfectly.

“Now, Gerard, you know who this is?”

Frank watched as Gerard slowly nodded.

“My Frankie.”

Frank blushed furiously.

Gerard watched intently as Frank’s pale skin turned a gorgeous pink colour.
He wanted so badly to reach out and gently brush his fingers across that rosy cheek, to see if his skin felt as warm as it looked.
His head tilted slightly as Frank shifted from foot to foot in front of him.
His hand slowly rose of its own accord reaching for the timid boy before him.
Frank’s skin just looked so soft…

Frank gasped softly and his eyes fluttered closed as he felt cool fingers gently brush his cheek. It felt so good.

Realizing what he had just done, Gerard quickly dropped his hand back to his side, looking down.
Frank was going to hate him. He hadn’t meant to touch him. He just couldn’t help it.

Frank’s eyes snapped open as the cool touch abruptly stopped.
He stood dazed for a second, disorientated. To feel Gerard touch him had sent his mind in a hundred different directions. It had felt so right.
Reaching for Gerard his fingers lightly cupped his pale cheek. Small red roses adorned his cheeks, hinting as his embarrassment.
He smiled slightly at the nervous look in Gerard’s eyes.

“It’s okay,” He whispered. “You’re aloud to touch me.”

Gerard’s eyes widened slightly.

Frank smiled.
“I won’t get mad, I promise.” He reluctantly removed his hands from Gerard’s face, eyes still locked together. He hesitantly smiled as the tension slowly drained from the boy’s body, and he watched fascinated, as a small smile gently curved Gerard’s lips.
They looked so soft. So warm.
Frank looked down breaking contact. He couldn’t be thinking these thoughts. Not about Gerard. Not ever about Gerard.

He let out a laugh as he noticed Gerard’s choice in foot ware.
“Nice shoes.” He whispered.
He felt Gerard look at him questioningly before his eyes also fell to his feet.
Gerard’s giggle filled his ears and he flushed with pleasure.
It was just so damn cute!

The shop owner turned to the two boys who were giggling shyly at each other, she held some boots out to the two boys.

“Would you like some shoes Gerard?”

Both boys started giggling as they looked down at Gerard’s bright red sock clad feet. Soon peals of laughter erupted from them both and before long both boys were leaning on each other for support as tears leaked down their cheeks.

The shop owner couldn’t keep the smile from her face as she watched them. It really was the perfect match.

“Yes, Yes, I know it’s funny,” she paused and pressed her lips together, hiding a smile as fresh waves of laughter erupted from the two boys, “But if you’re going to go out, you’ll need shoes Gerard.” This quickly sobered Frank up. He straightened quickly almost causing Gerard to topple over. Doubts still paraded through his mind, even after what Gerard had said.

The shop owner looked Frank in the eye, knowing exactly what was going through his head. She arched an eyebrow in his direction and he quickly looked down, hastily helping Gerard to stand. They would not be discussing it further.

She walked over to the two boys, and handed Gerard his shoes and handed Frank a bag.

“This has all of Gerard’s things in it. Everything that he’ll need, if there are other things he’ll need there is some money in there that will pay for it, if you run out, come to me and I’ll give you more.”

She looked the two boys over. Gerard straightened from tying his boots. Taller then Frank, Gerard seemed to be the stronger of the two, but looking at Frank, really looking at him, would show that it this wasn’t true. Though his body was small it held strength, his were eyes alert, shining with intelligence and… happiness. Frank blinked and it was gone.
The shop owner sighed only the constant fear of being hurt caused this fragile boy to hunch over slightly, to hide deep within his hoodie, fear caused him to fidget when constantly looked at and fear was the reason he was alone.

Fear is what controlled him, and fear is what Gerard had to banish.

She smiled again.
This was going to work.

Frank hadn’t really wanted to leave the shop. In there he hadn’t had to worry about what other people thought. Well he had tried not to worry about what other people thought. And it had been relatively easy, just focusing on the fact that he was getting a Doll. And that he would deal with what people thought after. But here, out in the open, the sun hurting his eyes slightly and people bushing past, it was a lot harder to forget. Forget about his problems and forget the fact that no one liked him.

He shook his head and kicked at a stone, sending it flying across the road.

“Is something wrong Frankie?”
Frank glanced over at the one good thing that had happened to him, in, god only knew how long.
Gerard Way. His first friend.

He smiled at how weird the other boy looked. Huge sun-glasses covered half his face, making him look like some kind of weird insect. But a good looking insect not one of those bad looking ones.

“Yes Bumble- Bee everything’s fine.”

He giggled as Gerard pouted.

“Not a Bumble- Bee.” He muttered.

Frank snaked an arm around the boy’s waist and hugged him.

“With those glasses Gee, no one could not think you were a bumble bee.”

He giggled and stepped back as ‘Bumble-Bee’ continued to pout.

“Come on,” He said, grabbing the other boy’s hand. “Let’s go somewhere.”

Gerard tilted his head slightly, looking damn cute.

“Where are we going?”

Frank grinned.

“Where ever you like baby, the world, I mean, the town is your oyster.”

His bumble-bee giggled.

His? Where did that come from?

He shook his head, and listened for the boys answer.

“Take me where ever you like Frankie, I want to see everything.”

Frank grinned.

“Well then Bumble-Bee, I suggest we hit the local coffee shop, because I am in dire need of some caffeine.”

From behind tinted glasses Frank watched as hazel eyes light up in excitement. He grinned.

“Yes! Take me! Coffee is my god!”

Frank’s grin grew and he dragged the willingly boy behind him towards his favourite coffee shop.

This was the start of a beautiful…friendship.
