you know the scene from that movie that I always liked? when he was buying the luggage... for some reason, I always thought that was something that the writer or director had laying around as a really clever thing to do and had honed it to a fine point and then the rest of the movie came into existence and he said, "here's a great place for that..."
the guy who played the luggage salesman just owned it, too... you really felt his whole life was the products he sold.
I've always liked that scene, too. It's great when you see that same actor in other roles. All I can think of is "Very exciting. As a luggage problem."
the movie, in general, never got enough love in my opinion... I mean, check out Meg Ryan actually acting rather than always just playing herself... plus all the great visual cues with the lightning and changes in color... plus it was just damn funny, and quite heart warming in spots... that whole scene with him praying in front of the moon really got me when I saw it the first time and is one of the few movies that will get to me again and again.
