This post is for threading with Zuko anytime and anywhere. It can be used for Action or the Ring feature on journals (voice or written) to get in contact with him for personal conversations. This will be used primarily for 'placement' threads such as: someone left a present or 'by the way, come to this party on such-and-such' or the like

[It has been one hell of a day. Someone sees her home, since she's not fit to stand, and she's elicited promises that they come and get her right away if something goes wrong - she'll find the strength to fix it - and right now all Katara wants is a shower, maybe some food, and her bed, and not necessarily in that order.

She won't have any problem finding this, right?]

[No problem at all, if she bothers to answers Zuko's questions when she first arrives home. Someone left her journal open on the counter -- and then someone else, after wandering into the kitchen to see if she needed anything picked up for dinner, saw it and the unattended half-made dinner and jumped to conclusions.

... Then he read the journal and just got annoyed. Seriously, Katara? Just up and leave like that? They could have helped somehow.

When he finds her, he's holding her journal and giving her a curious -- and slightly frustrated -- look.]

[Katara is too tired to notice that the book his holding happens to be her journal. She shuts the door behind her and lifts off her waterskin, her movement sluggish and pained.]

Hey.

[...yes, she is currently too tired and upset to start asking 'Where is everybody' and 'I think I owe them an explanation about dinner.' Give her a minute?]

[How about half a minute, while he looks her over and takes in just how absolutely weary she looks. He's not sure if that eases annoyance or just frustrates him more. Did she honestly go running out without an explanation, especially when she'd come back like this?

He holds up the journal.]

How's your friend?

[It's the day of the duel. Morning, in fact. Sokka has passed up his training this morning so he won't end up with any unfortunate injuries. He's done his stretching, a few drills, and he's now heading out to the barracks to meet Zuko for this duel. Time to settle who the real man of the house is!]

[Who the man of the house is, Sokka? That's already been decided. This is just confirmation. Zuko's out by the barracks himself, swords in hand and running drills himself. He barely slows down for a side-glance at Sokka. It's only after the drill is done that he acknowledges his presence.]

Ready to lose?

[Cocky, aren't we? Sokka just smirks and rotates his arm, ready for battle.]

I would be, if I thought it might happen.

[There's a muffled ruffling as Mai settles into a seat, but the recording had already started. She's still getting the hang of how these journal things work.]

Hey. I guess I should let you know I'm settled in. I'm in one of the Community Housing places for the time being. It's not ideal, but I'm not about to take any liberties.

[There's a pause as Mai takes a sip of tea. Thank God, it's piping hot.]

I'm in Community Building Six. Room Twenty-Five. Don't come expecting much, I'm hoping I don't have to stay here long. It's cramped.

[Because she had to get some complaining in there.]

I'm getting some tea to take back there, but after that, I don't plan on going out much. So stop by whenever you're not busy with...

[Mai fades off. What was he doing, anyway? She hadn't really figured that out.]

Well, yeah. I'm around. if you want to talk.

[Mai closes her journal and nurses her cup of tea, staring through the trail of steam from her cup. That was nice enough, right?]

[Voice]

[Zuko's answer is a snort. He usually has his journal on him and is pretty quick about answering personal hails. He doesn't get many, but that doesn't mean he's going to ignore them.] Yeah, the Community Buildings are special. I was in one for a little while.

[Tea, huh? And he's busy with things! He does things here. Like... walking around town and stuff. It's things. And they're busy things.] I got a few things that need done. Say an hour or so? I could probably drop by.

[voice]

[Typical vagueness. Mai wondered just how important they really were. Ah, well. It's better that he feels important than unwanted and worthless, so she was going to let that slide.]

"Probably"? I'm not going to wait for you if it's not for certain.
