It's TRUE that even the best caretaker can have an accident happen, but she didn't make allowances for Mal when her brother's finger was hit during a game of volleyball. Climbing a tree takes longer than that.
That's exactly why I'm not either. She tore into Mallory for something that was a complete accident (and don't forget the Pikes were back at the time so she wasn't even in charge) and I have no doubt she'd have done the same thing in this situation had it been anyone but her sitting. We've seen Kristy go off on Stacey about stealing that ring and counterfit money while "claiming" she's worried about what the clients would think. Well, Kristy, what do you think your clients would think about not paying attention to Jackie to the point he was able to climb a tree and then moved a child after he fell and hit his head and didn't call 911 or doctor or anyone?
Don't forget that Kristy neglected to watch Karen for long enough that Karen managed to manually remove the paint from an entire care. Of course, Watson just laughed and said he'd been thinking about getting the car re-painted anyway....

Yet, Mary Anne when Jenny was sick didn't know what to do and she tried to call her dad, Jenny's doctor, Jenny's parents and Dawn. Then they decided to call 911. When Claudia broke her leg sitting for the Demon Child Betsy, she immediately instructs Betsy to call 911 and for Dawn and Mallory who were babysitting near by. When Buddy goes missing Dawn calls all over the neighborhood and after talking with Mrs. Pike (an adult) calls 911. Kristy, President of the Club, the one who brags the most about being the best babysitting and knowing everything the world....doesn't call 911, a doctor, Jackie's parents or anyone, and moves him.
Because the Stonybrook parents were unhealthily reliant on the BSC, and totally squirm at the idea of having to watch their own children, they all totally flip shits about the breakup, and take it out on poor Claudia.
Well, there goes that idea.
Mrs. Wilder wants to provide them with a counseling session.
This might actually be a good idea. Those girls were so obsessed with the club for so long that is disbanding so suddenly might send some of them into a tailspin.
