Jessi's Baby-sitter! Part The End!

Jan 21, 2016 16:07

Goodness, you guys. I'm sorry I totally slacked on this snark. I was 'busy' playing on Tumblr and with my Sims. See, I found out about painting goblins and decided to make a town run on horror. And because it takes more than half an hour before you can even play the game, I was just not writing. And everytime a 'You should be writing!' post came up ( Read more... )

And really, Jackie's disinterest in this is oozing off the page, I mean, screen.--And how pathetic Jessi doesn't see this or she doesn't care if she does see the kid isn't interested ( ... )

I just wanted him to win. He’s always saying he’s no good at anything, or that he has bad luck. I wanted him to see that he can be a winner' right in front of Jackie.--Well, maybe those attitudes are coming out more because he can see how you girls react towards him? Come on, who wouldn't fuck up if you've got people that huff, sigh, roll their eyes, and just act like you're as annoying as a fly buzzing around them? And again, maybe you should listen to the kid. He didn't want this and you made him ( ... )

The whole language of Jackie's disinterest really bothers me. She says things like he's saying things 'dully' or with boredom and none of that registers with her. It reads that he isn't having the slightest bit of fun but Jessi just barrels ahead and does what she wants. It's really disheartening that they treat kids like amusing little toys and never get called out on it.

The BSC would have hated me too because I was the same way. I'm an only child so I was used to playing by myself and keeping quiet. I could see that some of their projects might interest me (art and quiet things) but generally I preferred to just do my own thing. And yes, that includes watching the Devil's Box.

I feel really bad about Jackie at the science fair. He was basically humiliated. That's a hard thing for a kid. I totally agree that he should have talked to his parents about letting the BSC sit for him. Kids do pick up on their elder's emotions and I'm sure acting like him tripping is on par with him destroying a priceless antique isn't good for him. It ( ... )

It's just really bad the girls don't see or don't care about cues they're being given. Again, the stuff Jackie's doing is PAINFULLY obvious ( ... )

I was always curious about just what kind of chemicals they're using because all the volcano projects I've ever seen just use baking soda and vinegar.-And why would they give the klutzy kid fucking chemicals in the first place ( ... )

Jessi totally fails to notice that Jackie would rather be at the dentist right about now ( ... )

I had no idea there used to be chemistry sets with actual radioactive material! That’s awesome! I would have LOVED that kind of thing! ... But I was an especially stupid child and I’d have probably found a way to kill myself with it, lol ...

I bet Jessi hurt Jackie’s feelings ... and I bet the judges couldn’t even read the sign she made. I have trouble reading her stupid handwriting, too.

Blame fucking Poseidon if you have to, but leave the little kid with no control over the fucking weather alone. - Sheer awesomeness.

That paragraph with your rant over about Jessi still not talking to her parents is so awesome, I almost copy-and-pasted it into my comment for the secondary glory. And it’s SO much like Mal’s whining for who knows how long about wanting pierced ears before she even comes up with the sun-brightening idea to actually ASK her parents if she can have pierced ears. That whole book, I thought she HAD had the sense to ask and been told it was never going to happen, just based on Mal’s acting like you could only get your ( ... )
