Whereas my brain still short-circuits every time I try to figure out what Ann was trying to do with Mallory Pike, #1 Fan. Was not knowing the difference between fact and fiction a huge problem I never noticed during the nineties?--That book is still totally out there and I really think Quantum Leap did a better job of portraying somebody that has mental health problems that can't tell the difference between tv and real life. But to make your writer of the group have this problem...it really just makes you go 'wtf?'. Sometimes I wonder if that storyline was meant to be a B plot for one of the kids the BSC babysits. Wouldn't that make more sense? Maybe the A plot fell through and they decided to bump B to A and give the problem to Mallory.

One, either Karen Brewer has a split personality with her good side only making occasional appearances,--I think quite a few characters have split personalities or doppelgangers tbh. Kristy in the Little Sister books acts a lot better than she does in the BSC books. Alan can go from being a gentle class clown to a full blown bully--I think that one hurts the most because I like Alan so much.

she decided to shank Mallory and any fans she might have in a more metaphorical sense.--lol, and it still didn't work for me. I can admit that plotline was stupid but I still like Mallory. Out of the BSC characters, I like Mallory 1st. Shannon wasn't in the book enough times for them to destroy her character so I'd label her number 2. Claudia has her shitty moments but she doesn't seem as bad as the other girls so I'd label her number 3. Everybody else, I just don't like anymore.
